WHO AM I?
My career started as an architectural student at SUNY Delhi and then as the first female draftsman at Oliver, Smith & Cooke, AIA. Two years following the birth of my son, I was hired by US Navy and worked for 23 years and another 8 years for the Coast Guard as a Visual Information Specialist. During that career I evolved from the drawing board to AutoCAD, copy cameras to Photoshop, cut and paste to pdf and eBooks, and continued on to include large format printing and web design.
WHAT DO I DO?
SKILLS INCLUDE:
Now that I am retired from federal service, I continue to freelance and work part time for the Newcomb Historical Museum. My favorite tasks are producing videos, websites, thread painting, and when I have the time, airbrush paint. Publication designs have won first place, second place, and honorable mention awards from the Chief of Naval Operations for Fathom and Approach Magazines. Additional accolades include a 2000 Best of Print award from the National Association of Photoshop Professionals for a freelance annual report cover.
